The short, plain-English version of how renting with Chapin Adventures works.

Rentals & Pricing

Rentals are priced per item: $60 the first day, $50 each additional day, never more than $160/week. Every rental includes all gear — paddle, USCG-approved life vests, electric pump, dry bag, waterproof phone case and Bluetooth speaker. Sales tax is extra.

Reservations & Hours

We’re by reservation, open daily 8 AM – 8 PM. Same-day is often available by phone. Need a pickup or return outside those hours? Reach out and we’ll arrange it.

Waiver & Age

  • All users sign our liability waiver at pickup.
  • Renters must be 18+ with valid photo ID.
  • Children must be supervised by an adult at all times; kids 8+ may paddle solo under close supervision.

Safety

  • USCG-approved life jackets (included free) must be worn, zipped, and buckled at all times on the water.
  • No alcohol during rentals — violations end the rental without refund.
  • Most launch sites have no lifeguards; paddle responsibly and check conditions before you go.

Equipment Care

You’re responsible for the gear during your rental. Normal wear is expected; loss or negligent damage (dragging on pavement, punctures from misuse) may incur repair or replacement costs at fair market value. Report any issues right away — we’re reasonable people.

Dogs

Well-behaved small and medium dogs are welcome (one per rental) at no extra charge.
