Lake Union Paddle Board Rental FAQ

Is Lake Union good for beginners?
Yes. Much of Lake Union is a slow, no-wake zone, so the water stays calm and flat. It is a great place for a first time on a paddle board. Just stay clear of the seaplane lanes at the south end and yield to larger boats in the marked channels.
Where should I launch on Lake Union?
Gas Works Park on the north shore is the most popular hand-launch and has the best skyline view. Lake Union Park by MOHAI on the south end and the small east-shore parks in Eastlake are good quieter options. All are about 17 minutes from our Tukwila pickup.
Can I paddle from Lake Union to Lake Washington?
Yes. Lake Union connects to Lake Washington through the Montlake Cut and the Ship Canal, and to Puget Sound through the Ballard Locks. It is a bigger outing with boat traffic and a lock transit, so plan your route, but many paddlers do it on a full-day rental.
Do you deliver, or is it pickup only?
Pickup is at our Tukwila location, about 17 minutes from the lake and one block from Seattle. Delivery is available in parts of the Seattle area for a small fee. Call or text (425) 922-5455 and we will let you know if we can bring it to you.
What comes with the rental?
Everything. Your board or kayak, paddle, USCG life vests, an electric pump, a dry bag, a waterproof phone case, and a Bluetooth speaker. That is about $175 of gear, included free with every rental.
